Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 October 2026. Last updated: 15 October 2026.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how Shopsense ("we", "us") handles personal data when you visit shopsense.pro (the "Site") or use the Shopsense search service (the "Service"). For privacy questions, email support.shopsense@gmail.com.
A legal name and postal address are not published on this page yet. Add them here before relying on this policy for EU or UK visitors.
2. Two roles we play
For the Site and our sales relationship, we are the data controller. We decide why and how we process data about visitors, prospects and customer contacts.
For the Service, we are a data processor. Our customers, the distributors who use Shopsense on their storefronts, control the product, inventory, pricing and buyer data that flows through the search index. We process it on their instructions under a Data Processing Agreement. If you are a buyer on a customer's storefront, that customer's privacy policy governs, and you should contact them first.
3. Data we collect on the Site
Data you give us: name, work email, company, ERP used, catalog size and message content when you submit a form or email us. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp also processes that conversation under its own terms.
Data collected automatically: IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, referring URL and timestamps, through server logs and Google Tag Manager.
Cookies: Google Tag Manager is loaded on the Site and may set analytics cookies, depending on the tags in that container. The Site does not run advertising cookies from this page's code. See section 9.
4. Data we process in the Service
On behalf of customers, the Service indexes:
- Product catalog data: names, SKUs, descriptions, attributes, images.
- Inventory data: quantities by warehouse.
- Pricing data: price lists, customer tiers and contract prices.
- Buyer account identifiers needed to show account-specific pricing: an account identifier and price tier. Whether buyer names or emails are stored is stated in the customer agreement, not on this page.
- Search activity: queries, results shown, clicks and order events in the same session, for analytics.
The Site does not collect payment card data. We do not sell any of this data.
5. Why we use data and the legal basis
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Reply to enquiries and run demos | Contact form, email, WhatsApp | Legitimate interest, or steps before a contract |
| Provide and support the Service | Service data in section 4 | Contract with the customer |
| Improve the Site and Service | Usage analytics, search analytics | Legitimate interest |
| Send product updates | Work email | Consent, or legitimate interest for existing customers, with opt-out |
| Comply with law and enforce terms | Any | Legal obligation, legitimate interest |
6. Who we share data with
- Hosting and infrastructure: the provider that serves the Site. The vendor and region are available on request and are not named here until confirmed.
- Email: the provider that delivers contact-form messages.
- Analytics: Google Tag Manager.
- Professional advisers and authorities when required by law.
We do not use a scheduling provider on the Site. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers. A current list of sub-processors for the Service is available on request from support.shopsense@gmail.com.
7. International transfers
Where the Site and Service are hosted, and the safeguard used if data leaves the EEA or UK, is stated in the customer agreement. This page does not name a region or a transfer mechanism until that hosting location is confirmed.
8. How long we keep data
Fixed retention periods are not published here yet. Enquiry data, customer and Service data, search analytics and server logs are kept only for the purposes in section 5. Service data is kept for the life of the customer contract and then deleted or returned as the agreement says. When month counts are fixed, they will be listed in this section.
9. Cookies
Google Tag Manager loads on every page. Which cookies it sets depends on the tags configured in that container. A cookie-by-cookie table and a consent banner are not on the Site yet. You can block cookies in your browser.
10. Security
Access to contact-form messages and customer data is limited to people who need it to reply or to run the Service. This page does not claim a security certification. No method is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected customers and authorities of a personal data breach as the law requires.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Email support.shopsense@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.
California residents: you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
12. Children
The Site and Service are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
13. Changes to this policy
We will post changes here and update the date at the top. For material changes affecting customers, we will email the account contact.
